Bells Across PA 250 – Armstrong County
As part of Pennsylvania’s statewide America 250 commemoration, Armstrong County proudly participated in Bells Across PA 250, a powerful statewide art and history initiative celebrating 250 years of American independence.
Our county fiberglass bell—now permanently installed on the Armstrong County Historical Society campus—serves as a lasting symbol of freedom, reflection, and community pride. Each county’s bell is uniquely designed, telling a local story while contributing to a shared statewide legacy.
Community Support Made This Possible
This project would not have been possible without the generous support of our partners and sponsors who believed in the importance of preserving and celebrating Armstrong County’s role in Pennsylvania’s history.
We gratefully acknowledge the sponsors who helped make the Armstrong County bell possible:

Rabbit Hole Collective
James R. Johnson
Rosebud Mining
Sassy Soul Boutique
Snyder Bros.
Charles “Chip” Echnoz

Their commitment ensured the successful creation, delivery, and installation of this meaningful public art piece for our community.

A special thanks to the Armstrong County Arts Council for taking the lead on this project. Executive Director, Donna Weckerly, worked closely with both artist Strate, the sponsors, and the America250PA committee to ensure our county’s bell was completed timely.

Toy’s Landscape Company and Zambotti Collision & Welding Center provided their professionalism and care to ensure our bell was protected and displayed with honor and grace.

Be sure to visit “Echoes of Armstrong” and experience the history of our county through public art!
legacy
At least one bell now stands in every Pennsylvania county, each uniquely designed to represent that community’s heritage and its contributions to the American story. Together, these public works of art form a statewide trail of history and pride—inviting residents and visitors alike to explore Pennsylvania county by county while celebrating America’s 250th birthday.
