Mission Impact
Preserving Armstrong Countys Story

The Armstrong County Historical Society is dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich heritage of our region. Through historic preservation, educational programming, research resources, and community events, we work to ensure that the stories, artifacts, and landmarks of Armstrong County remain accessible for generations to come.

Your support helps us care for our historic campus, expand research opportunities in the Lankerd-Thomas Genealogy Library, preserve fragile artifacts, and create meaningful public programs that connect our community with its past.

Our Community Foundation Connection

The Armstrong County Community Foundation: The Heartbeat of What We Do

Some partnerships are transactional. This one is transformational.

The Armstrong County Community Foundation is, at its core, the reason the Armstrong County Historical Society is able to do so much of what we do. Through their grant funding opportunities, their annual Grant Dinner Awards, and their beloved Week of Giving, the Foundation connects organizations like ours with donors and grantors who share a deep belief in what makes Armstrong County worth preserving and worth growing.

Each year, we participate in the grant process with a clear sense of purpose: to bring forward the needs of our museum, our campus, our collections, and our community programming. From facility improvements to educational initiatives, the support we’ve received through the Armstrong County Community Foundation has made a tangible difference in our ability to serve this county and tell its story.

The Week of Giving holds a special place in our calendar. It’s more than a fundraising event — it’s an annual reminder that Armstrong County is home to people who believe that history matters, that preservation is an investment, and that a community that knows where it came from is better equipped to imagine where it’s going.

We are honored to be part of this process. The Armstrong County Community Foundation doesn’t just distribute funding. It builds bridges between people who care and the organizations that carry that care forward into the community. For the Armstrong County Historical Society, that means everything.

How You Can Be Part of It

Whether you give during the Week of Giving, contribute to a targeted grant initiative, or simply spread the word about what we’re doing here, your participation in the Armstrong County Community Foundation ecosystem helps preserve the stories, artifacts, and places that define who we are as a county.

We welcome donors, partners, and supporters of every kind. Together, we’re not just keeping the past alive — we’re investing in a future that knows its roots.
